Date: 2022 05 16
Time: 0725
Description: Burglary
Location: Gray Campus Center (GCC)

Notes: A CSO responded to the GCC to take a report of burglary. The CSO met with a Bon Appetit employee who reported that when they had arrived on site they observed multiple food items strewn about the kitchen area, and beverages and food stolen. Shortly after taking this report, a Reed building services member reported to the CSO that a door to the Student Union (SU) had been broken and there was damage inside the building. The CSO inspected the door and found damage consistent with that caused by forced entry. When the CSO entered the SU, they observed that a fire extinguisher had been discharged, a disco ball had been shattered, and multiple commencement gowns and mortarboards had been removed from their storage areas. The CSO found the missing commencement gowns, along with food from Commons, hidden underneath a chair.

CS Survey Responses:

Every week Community Safety requests survey responses from those who've had interactions with a member of the Community Safety team. These responses are always collected anonymously with the option for the responder to leave contact information if they would like for a member of Community Safety management to contact them, and are used internally for departmental performance tracking. Community Safety has opted to publish these survey results for transparency and community accountability. *Names mentioned in survey responses will be redacted to protect the privacy of individuals.

In addition to surveys sent directly to those who have interacted with Community Safety, the Reed community is always encouraged to independently complete the survey regarding Community Safety's performance.
You can take the survey here:
