Time: 0045
Description: Suspicious Person/Activity/Circumstances

Case #: 250003
Date: 2025 01 04
Time: 2321
Description: Suspicious Person/Activity/Circumstances
Location: Sports Field

Notes: A CSO on vehicle patrol witnessed an aerial firework explode over the vicinity of campus. As the CSO arrived near where they had estimated the firework may have been set off from, they observed seven unknown individuals gathered on the sports field. Before the CSO could engage with the group, one of the individuals signaled to the others in the group, and the group quickly left campus. The CSO searched the field for any firework remnants that may have presented a fire danger and then returned to their patrol priorities.

Case #: 250004
Date: 2025 01 05
Time: 1205
Description: Burglary
Location: Bragdon

Notes: A CSO responded to a report of a stolen bike at Bragdon residence hall. The CSO met with a student who stated that they had left their bike secured inside the bike storage room on 12/22/24 and the bike was no longer there when the student returned. The CSO sympathized with the student for their loss and recommended the student also file a theft report with the Portland Police Bureau. The CSO then performed a patrol of the nearby areas in an attempt to locate the missing bike, but it was to no avail.

CS Survey Responses

Every week Community Safety requests survey responses from those who've had interactions with a member of the Community Safety team. These responses are always collected anonymously with the option for the responder to leave contact information if they would like for a member of Community Safety management to contact them, and are used internally for departmental performance tracking. Community Safety has opted to publish these survey results for transparency and community accountability. *Names and pronouns mentioned in survey responses will be redacted to protect the privacy of individuals.

In addition to surveys sent directly to those who have interacted with Community Safety, the Reed community is always encouraged to independently complete the survey regarding Community Safety's performance.

You can take the survey here:
