Student Engagement Program Board

Big parachute for Field DayStudent Engagement Program Board

The Student Engagement Program Board (SEPB) is a team of four student leaders who organize and host traditional college events on campus for the student body. These are welcoming events to help students forge connections and have fun outside of the classroom. Event examples include open mic night, trivia night, seasonal and holiday-centered socials, and more!

One of our signature programs is the Student Artist/Musician Showcase (SA/MS), which highlights the work of student musicians, jewelry makers, illustrators, and other artisans. Students are paid for their time and may also sell their work or merchandise during their showcase.

During the spring semester, the SEPB hosts a large-scale arts and music fest, The Listening Session, as a culmination of recently featured bands, artists, and other participants in the Student Artist/Musician Showcase program.

Some recent SEPB events include:

  • A Gothic Fairy Prom - an evening filled with mushroom lanterns, fairy lights, desserts and students dancing the night away in elf ears, fairy wings concluding with a celebratory crowning of a fairy prom court.
  • Flower Bomb: A Valentine's Day Celebration - an arts and crafts event featuring paper flower crowns, card making, free pizza and Valentine’s Day treats!
  • The Listening Session - an arts and music festival featuring the year’s Student Artist/Musician Showcase musicians, jewelry makers, illustrators with free food and swag.
  • Spring Semester Ice Cream Social
  • Field Day - an elementary school-style water balloon fight, tug-of-war, pie eating contest, rainbow parachute games, and more!
  • Jeopardy! - teams participated in the American quiz game competition with a Reedie twist
  • Friend Feud - friend groups competed to guess results of Reedie student survey questions and win prizes
